SAN CLEMENTE — An anonymous telephone tip Monday led to the seizure of more than 200 pounds of marijuana from a car in a supermarket parking lot and the arrest of one man, police said.
The incident began at about 8 a.m. when the caller told police a large amount of marijuana was hidden in a silver Nissan Pulsar parked outside Ralphs supermarket on Calle de Industrias, Sgt. James R. Thomas said.
Narcotics detectives first found the car and, with the help of a Border Patrol-trained dog, then found the marijuana in the trunk, Thomas said.
An unidentified man who was watching the search was later arrested on unspecified charges. Police said the man was carrying a large amount of cash.
