TRW to Lay Off 250 at 2 Plants: TRW Inc. will lay off 250 workers at two San Gabriel Valley plants that make crash sensors for automobile air bags because of reduced international sales and changes in sensor technology. The workers will be laid off in phases by mid-July at the TRW Technar unit plants in Irwindale and San Dimas. The plants employ about 1,200 people. The cuts will primarily affect production associates and technicians who earn $9 to $15 an hour, a TRW official said.
