PORT HUENEME : Officer Shoots, Kills Charging Pit Bull

A Port Hueneme police officer who was serving a search warrant at a Joyce Drive residence Saturday morning shot and killed a charging pit bull, authorities said.
Occupant Jackie Moore, 24, was arrested on narcotics charges after the incident, in which police discovered small amounts of heroine and cocaine, drug paraphernalia and packaging material, authorities said.
The officer was one of five who arrived at the residence in the 800 block of Joyce Drive at 7 a.m. As they served a search warrant, police said, a 50-pound pit bull charged at one of the officers.
