NEWBURY PARK : Murder Charge Filed in Roommate Shooting
- Share via
The district attorney’s office filed a murder charge Friday against a Newbury Park man accused of shooting his roommate in the head and stomach last weekend.
The charge replaces an attempted murder charge filed earlier against 27-year-old Todd Love, who is being held in County Jail on $250,000 bail, Deputy Dist. Atty. Ron Janes said.
Love’s roommate, Frank Kish, 31, died of gunshot wounds about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. He had been in critical condition at the hospital since deputies found him in his house in the 3900 block of San Marcos Court in Newbury Park about 2:20 a.m. Sunday.
Investigators arrested Love at the scene. Sheriff’s detectives could not be reached for comment Friday about possible motives for the shooting.
Deputy Coroner Zelmira Isaac said an autopsy was scheduled today. She said Kish was shot once in the head and once in the stomach.
