RACING ROUNDUP : Evanescent Wins the Arlington Handicap

Evanescent caught Split Run in the final yards to win the $250,000 Arlington Handicap by a half-length at Arlington International Racecourse on Sunday.
Magesterial Cheer was third in the 1 1/4-mile race on turf and was followed in order by Drummer Boy; Plate Dancer; Epaulet; Coaxing Matt; Mr. Light Tres, and Little Bro Lantis.
Evanescent, who was timed in 2:00 4/5, paid $9.80, $5, and $3.60. Split Run returned $5 and $4 and Magesterial Cheer paid $6.

Spinning Round led wire to wire in the $115,200 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga.
The favorite, November Snow, finished second, two lengths behind and a half-length ahead of Apelia in the seven-furlong race.
Spinning Round, a 4-year-old daughter of Dixieland Band from the Secretariat mare Take Heart, earned $69,120 with her second victory in nine starts this year. The winner returned $25.20, $8.40 and $3.80. November Snow paid $3.40 and $2.40 and Apelia paid $2.60.
