COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Tucker Gets Rancho Santiago Past San Diego Mesa

Eric Tucker made a two-point shot with 20 seconds left to give Rancho Santiago a 9-8 victory over San Diego Mesa in an Orange Empire Conference water polo game Tuesday at San Diego Mesa.
Tucker had a game-high three points and Jeremy Yorba and Tom Cerasuolo each added two. Gary Geiger had 11 saves for the Dons (14-4-1, 1-2 in league).
In other Orange Empire Conference water polo:
Orange Coast College 18, Palomar 7--Daniel Mathot and Ryan Mulholland each scored four goals for OCC (16-3-1, 4-0) and Fred Cooper had eight saves and Kaj Sturdivant had three saves in the victory over Palomar. Trevor Grim and Brad Caspar each scored three goals for Palomar and Andy Watt had eight saves.
Grossmont 29, Saddleback 8--Greg Reddish scored five goals for Saddleback (7-16, 2-1). Brothers John and James Giulianotti combined to score nine goals for Grossmont.
In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Rancho Santiago 4, Cypress 1--Max Monroy scored two goals while Andy Oftelie and Chau Tran each added one to lead Rancho Santiago to its first conference victory. Alex Bejarano scored the lone goal for Cypress.
Golden West 2, Fullerton 1--Phil Hurst scored two goals, including the game-winner with 10 minutes remaining, to lead Golden West (6-7, 1-3). Mai Thethy scored the lone goal for Fullerton (4-4-5, 2-2-1).
In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:
Golden West 1, Irvine Valley 1--Carey Gordon scored for host Golden West with about five minutes remaining in regulation. Marnie Gordon scored for Irvine (1-4-3, 1-1-2). Golden West is 3-3-3, 2-1-1.
