COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : USC : Wachholtz Good, but He’s Still No. 2
- Share via
In USC’s 34-9 victory over Oregon State, Kyle Wachholtz, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound sophomore quarterback from Corona, completed seven of nine passes for 110 yards and a 13-yard touchdown to DelVaughn Alexander.
Still, Wachholtz must wait, and probably for another season. Rob Johnson, who has completed nearly 70% of his passes this year, is a junior. “It’s clear to Kyle that Johnson is having a great year, but it’s also clear to him he’s only a step away from starting--if Rob should go down,” Coach John Robinson said. “And he’s certainly going to be the starter here his senior year.”
