Valley Christian Builds Lead, Beats Orange Lutheran

CERRITOS — Joey Juliano completed nine of 21 passes for 108 yards and scored a touchdown, but Cerritos Valley Christian rolled to a 21-7 Olympic League victory over Orange Lutheran Friday night at Valley Christian High.
The loss eliminated Orange Lutheran from playoff contention.
Orange Lutheran (4-5, 1-3) scored on a nine-play, 87-yard drive, after a Tom Pannell interception. Juliano completed passes of 11 and 19 yards to Pannell and a 32-yarder to Carlos Glade to set up the touchdown.
Valley Christian (7-2, 2-2) scored in each of the first three quarters to build a 21-0 lead going into the fourth quarter.
David Hwang led Orange with 42 yards in 13 carries. Pannell caught five passes for 68 yards, and intercepted a pass.
Orange Lutheran set up Valley’s first touchdown with a bad snap on a punt. One play later, Eugene Amos scored on a 27-yard run.
