St. Genevieve Finishes Calvary Chapel

ENCINO — Vinnie Tannous scored two touchdowns, one on a 70-yard fumble return, to help Panorama City St. Genevieve win its first football playoff game since 1986, a 24-21 victory over Calvary Chapel, in Division X Friday night at Birmingham High.
Tannous also scored on a one-yard run that gave St. Genevieve (9-2) the lead for good with 7:02 left in the first quarter.
Alex Muller completed five of 11 passes for 72 yards and also scored on a seven-yard run just before halftime, increasing the Valiants lead to 24-14.
St. Genevieve rushed for 252 yards, led by Omer Gutierrez who had 145 yards in 19 carries.
Trevor Morris led Calvary Chapel (5-6) with 119 yards in 13 carries and a touchdown. The Eagles also got touchdowns from Robert Hudson on a 63-yard run on their first play from scrimmage and Kenny Nash on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter.
