Soros Urges More Aid for Europe: Governments should increase lending to Eastern European nations, investor George Soros said during an interview on the television show “John McLaughlin: One on One.” He was commenting on the fact that the industrialized Group of Seven nations have repeatedly increased lending to Russia and other nations in the former Soviet Union. Soros, who manages the Curacao-based Quantum Fund, has provided financing for former communist nations, including $50 million for Bosnia. He said he doubts that Bosnia can be repaired soon.
