Navarone, who fractured his right front cannon bone on Jan. 29 at Santa Anita, will make his first start in more than 13 months in the seventh race today at Hollywood Park.
The winner of the Oak Tree Invitational and Del Mar Handicap in 1992, Navarone has trained well for Rodney Rash preparing for his comeback. He hasn’t raced since finishing seventh in the Breeders’ Cup Turf on Oct. 31, 1992.
Gary Stevens will ride the 5-year-old Irish River horse, who will have five opponents in the 1 1/16-mile turf race.
