CRENSHAW : Black Artists’ Group Begins Its 20th Year

International Black Writers and Artists is beginning its 20th year with an open reading and art display from 3 to 5 p.m. today in the Community Room at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
The theme of the reading is “It’s a Woman’s Thing.” The event is free.
Writers, artists and the public are encouraged to bring original art or read from written works, particularly those related to women and women’s issues.
International Black Writers and Artists was founded in Los Angeles in 1974 as a support and informational organization. It offers workshops on self-publishing, marketing and other topics.
The organization will also discuss its schedule for the year.
