Rock Hurled From Highway Overpass Kills Woman

MIAMI, Okla. — A motorist was killed when a five-pound rock thrown from an overpass crashed through her car’s windshield and struck her in the head, authorities said. Sheila Rene Mayfield, 25, of Jasper, Mo., was killed Tuesday night as she drove on the Will Rogers Turnpike in northeastern Oklahoma, near the Missouri line. No one has been arrested.
