Protesters Bombard KKK Rally in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — About 300 counterprotesters hurled rocks, batteries and obscenities at about 65 Ku Klux Klansmen who rallied Sunday to protest today’s holiday in honor of slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
About 65 klan members chanted “white power” while standing in heavy snow and subzero temperatures on the Capitol steps.
