Saturn Workers to Get Bonuses: General Motors Corp. said its 8,543 Saturn workers will receive payments of about $2,867 at the end of the month, reflecting the division’s ability to meet its quality and productivity goals while earning a profit last year. Under Saturn’s innovative labor agreement with the United Auto Workers union, employees are rewarded for meeting certain targets. Employees must also complete 92 hours of training a year in order to bring their base pay to the same level as other auto workers’. Saturn employees received about $5,100 in reward payments in 1993.
