Fluor Daniel: The firm said Monday that it has been awarded a contract by Norway’s state-owned oil company, Statoil, for the engineering, procurement and construction supervision of a methanol plant at Tjeldbergodden, Norway. Fluor said the contract involves a “multimillion-dollar” project, but refused to be specific, at Statoil’s request.
Fluor Daniel, principal unit of Fluor Corp., said the plant is scheduled for completion in 1996. It will process natural gas to produce 2,400 metric tons of methanol a day.
Fluor’s stock closed at $43.125 on Monday, down 62.5 cents per share on the New York Stock Exchange.
