Dr. Michael M. Gurdin; Leader of Plastic Surgery Societies

Dr. Michael M. Gurdin, 83, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who headed national medical societies. Gurdin was born in Pine Bluff, Ark., studied at the University of Arkansas and Tulane School of Medicine, and did his residency at Los Angeles’ Cedars of Lebanon Hospital, where he was later chief of plastic surgery. Gurdin served in the Navy during World War II. Establishing his own practice in Beverly Hills after the war, he also taught plastic surgery at UCLA. He served as president of the California Society of Plastic Surgery from 1956 to 1957, president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery from 1972 to 1973 and president of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from 1974 to 1975. On Dec. 27 in Beverly Hills.
