118 Freeway Connector Reopens

The Simi Valley (118) Freeway connection to the San Diego (405) and Foothill (210) freeways, which was closed after the Northridge earthquake, was reopened Sunday, Caltrans officials said.
In addition, most of the transition roads linking the three freeways were opened Sunday, meaning that commuters will now be able to switch from freeway to freeway without taking as many surface streets, a Caltrans spokesman said.
The 118 Freeway west of the 405 is still closed in both directions, the spokesman said.
A section of the Golden State Freeway between Lyons Avenue in Newhall and Roxford Street in Sylmar will be closed overnight and Tuesday for quake-related repairs, from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.
