Brock Jacobsen
SCHOOL: Crescenta Valley
SPORT: Basketball
YEAR: Junior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Jacobsen, a 6-foot-4 forward with a good shooting touch, was the only key returning player and the season started with him sidelined because of a broken wrist suffered while playing football with friends. “I learned my lesson about that,” he said. Since the start of league play, his numbers have improved, though, to 20.7 points per game.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Jacobsen scored 33 points to lead the Falcons to an 85-77 victory against Fontana last Tuesday night. The Steelers were the top-seeded team in the Division I-AA playoffs and the fourth-ranked team in the state. He followed that performance with a 20-point effort against Santa Ana Valley in the semifinals. “I’ve really been stepping up my role during the playoffs,” he said.
