Rubenstein broke her leg in a club game before the prep season, so she was sidelined with a cast when she wanted to be helping her teammates add to their unbeaten streak. When Rubenstein returned, it took some time to work out her rustiness, but in the playoffs she was one of the Vikings more prolific producers. Last week, she scored a goal in each of their victories, 3-1 over Mater Dei in the Division I semifinals and 3-0 over Palos Verdes Peninsula in the title game. Her other playoff goal came with a minute left in a 2-1 victory over Dana Hills.
Other notables:
* Julie Adams, Cypress, had 21 points and nine rebounds in a 60-51 loss to San Bernardino in the Division II-A semifinals.
* Sarah Beckley, Brea-Olinda, had 18 points and 12 rebounds in a 70-40 victory over Newport Harbor for the Division III-AA title.
* Genevieve Evarts, Newport Harbor, scored a game-high 22 points in a 70-40 loss to top-seeded Brea-Olinda.
* Lisa Weaver, Woodbridge, had 13 points and seven rebounds in a 59-47 victory over Hemet in the Division II-AA title game.
