World IN BRIEF : RUSSIA : Guards Fire on Other Soldiers, Killing 6

Two young Russian guards at a border post in the Kuril Islands fired on their fellow soldiers, killing six and wounding three. They said they were angry at being brutally hazed by older soldiers, Russia’s Itar-Tass news agency reported. The two guards also shot at a military helicopter, but the flaming aircraft landed safely.
