Canadians Want Fewer Immigrants, Poll Finds

OTTAWA — Most Canadians feel the country admits too many immigrants and that the majority make no effort to adapt to Canadian society, a survey commissioned by the government found.
Fifty-three percent of those surveyed thought Canadian immigration levels are too high, up from 44% two years ago and 30% in 1988, according to the survey conducted by Ekos Research Associates and made public Thursday.
