OUTLOOK
Tereschuk takes over after spending the past seven seasons as coach at Whittier California, where he won one league championship. Tereschuk, the younger brother of Laguna Hills Coach Pete Tereschuk, played for the University of San Diego, then worked as an assistant at Long Beach Wilson. “We’ll be solid on defense,” Tereschuk said. “We have a good pitching staff and some decent speed.” Miedecke has established himself as the staff ace, pitching a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the Friars’ 4-2 victory over Anaheim Tuesday. Krotz, who had a home run in the victory, and Rossi give Servite stability up the middle. Tereschuk hopes Greene, Shaia and Berlanga can contribute offensively. “I’m not interested in what happened last year,” Tereschuk said. “I just want us to improve.”
