COLLEGE ROUNDUP : SCC Softball Team Wins Two in Florida

Angie Vega had a double, two singles and drove in three runs to help the Southern California College softball team to a 7-5 victory over Grand Rapids (Mich.) Baptist College in a pool-play game of the Spring Fling softball tournament at the University of West Florida in Pensacola.
Southern California College (21-5) won two of three games Thursday. Carrie Nelson had two hits, drove in one run and scored another for the Vanguards in the victory over Grand Rapids.
Shannon Saylor pitched a one-hitter as SCC beat Webber (Fla.), 1-0, in the first game. Beth Howard saw her 10-game winning streak stopped as SCC lost to West Florida, 1-0.
In the PONY-Louisville softball tournament:
Southwestern Louisiana 4, Cal State Fullerton 1--Traci Fischer hit a home run in the second inning for the Titans (12-17).
Northwestern Louisiana and Southwestern Louisiana are 2-0 in Pool A. Arizona is 2-0 in Pool B. Cal State Northridge is 2-0 in Pool C and Oklahoma State is 3-0 in Pool D.
In nonconference baseball:
Southern California College 4, Biola 3--Jason Brissey went two for three with an RBI and a run scored for Southern California College (10-17).
Dartmouth 7, Concordia 5--Dartmouth (2-3) scored four first-inning runs on three hits and three errors, as Concordia (11-14) had its six-game winning streak ended.
