Hasbro Named in Antitrust Suit: The complaint, filed in federal court in New York by Anti-Monopoly Inc., alleges that Hasbro is using discriminatory and predatory pricing policies to drive small board-game manufacturers out of the market. The suit also charges that Toys ‘R’ Us Inc. and Kmart Corp., two of the top board-game retailers, are conspiring with Hasbro to maintain Hasbro’s monopoly in the market. Anti-Monopoly is seeking $15 million in damages, and has asked the court to order divestiture of all board-game companies acquired by Hasbro in recent years, including Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers and Selchow & Righter.
