COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UC Irvine Beats Wisconsin in Tennis Tournament

UC Irvine beat Wisconsin, 5-2, in one quarterfinal of the UC Irvine men’s tennis tournament Thursday at Irvine.
UCI’s Julian Foxon beat Jordan Richman, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 3 singles to improve his winning streak to eight. UC Irvine advanced to play Harvard in one semifinal and Alabama Birmingham plays South Alabama in the other. Both matches are at 1 p.m. in the UC Irvine tennis stadium.
In nonconference baseball:
Chapman 2, Concordia 2 (14)--Alex Vicario had an RBI single to score pinch-runner Adam Virchis from second with two out for host Concordia (12-17-1). Jake Miller allowed eight hits and two runs, one earned, in 13 innings. He had four strikeouts. Jason Smith had two hits for Chapman (8-16-1).
In nonconference women’s tennis:
Boise State 6, Cal State Fullerton 3--Kara Kolb won, 6-4, 6-4, to earn her second consecutive victory and freshmen Jennifer Camfield and Mandy Gomez each won for Cal State Fullerton (7-13). Boise State is 9-8.
