VALLEYWIDE : Leadership Awards to Honor 5 Women

Five women will be honored as “Outstanding Women” of the northeast San Fernando Valley by the San Fernando Chamber of Commerce and San Fernando Florist this month.
The five honorees are Marianne Barrios, a reporter and general manager for the San Fernando Sun; Kym Wyard, deputy director of the Northeast Valley Health Corp.; Mary Strenn, San Fernando’s city administrator; Delores Barker, a former Sylmar honorary sheriff, and Barbara Perkins, a Sylmar community activist.
The award has been presented annually since 1987.
“The essence is to take some time to honor some of the women who have provided leadership in this community over the years,” said Bruce Cohen, the chamber’s executive vice president and chief executive.
The ceremony will take place on April 28 at San Fernando City Hall at 5:30 p.m.
