SOFTBALL ROUNDUP : Santa Margarita Beats Saddleback, 4-0, in 13 Innings

Laura Meith allowed four hits and recorded a complete-game shutout for Santa Margarita, which defeated Saddleback, 4-0, in 13 innings in a Sea View League softball game Friday.
Amy Fenelli’s two-run double broke the scoreless tie in the top of the 13th, followed by an RBI double by Meith (3-3) for Santa Margarita.
Santa Margarita improved to 13-7, 4-2.
In other Sea View League games:
Newport Harbor 12, Corona del Mar 1--Stephanie Gosselin had three hits and three RBIs for Newport Harbor (6-6, 2-4). Teammate Samantha Foster added two hits with three RBIs.
Irvine 2, University 1--Natalie Tomoguchi hit a triple in the sixth inning to score the winning run for Irvine (9-9, 3-3).
In the Olympic League:
Brethren Christian 5, Ontario Christian 0--Brooke Hofstetter struck out nine and allowed two hits for the shutout.
Jennifer Stanfill had a bases-loaded triple in the first inning to lead Brethren Christian (10-3, 3-2). Hofstetter is 5-2.
In the South Coast League:
Capistrano Valley 8, Mission Viejo 4--Christy Morgal singled, tripled and homered, and drove in three runs for visiting Capistrano Valley (10-5, 1-1).
El Toro 3, Dana Hills 1--Dana Gulick went three for three with a stolen base and one run scored for El Toro (14-7, 2-0). Teammate Kelly Bruce also went three for three, including a double and two runs scored.
