Women With Forehead Tattoos Compensated

NEW DELHI — A court blamed India’s most feared state police force for an attack that left four women with the word “pickpocket” tattooed across their foreheads.
In a ruling Thursday, Judges A. P. Choudhury and J. L. Gupta ordered the Punjab state government to pay the women the equivalent of $1,600 each and to file a report detailing how much more money they needed for damages.
