Man Beheads Daughter to Appease Hindu Deity

RAJKOT, India — A middle-aged Indian beheaded his young daughter last week in the western Indian state of Gujarat to appease a Hindu deity, United News of India (UNI) said Monday, quoting police officials.
UNI said Hemu Vasrambhai confessed to killing his teen-age daughter last Wednesday. He reportedly said he had had a dream in which a goddess asked him to make a human sacrifice.
He was arrested on murder charges after the victim’s uncle reported the matter to the police.
