PALMDALE — A 7-year-old Palmdale boy who was hit by a car while walking across busy Palmdale Boulevard after buying Mother’s Day flowers died Monday.
Bradley Snyder suffered what proved to be fatal head injuries in the Saturday afternoon accident, said David Davidson, a sheriff’s traffic investigator. The boy was pronounced dead at 10:49 a.m. Monday at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center.
Bradley was crossing Palmdale Boulevard between 5th and 6th streets East at 2:35 Saturday afternoon when he was struck by a car driven by Katheryn Oggs, 18. The boy was not in a marked crosswalk.
Eastbound traffic on Palmdale Boulevard had stopped near 6th Street East where Bradley was crossing, but Oggs drove into the parking lane to get by the other cars, according to a sheriff’s report. Oggs, a Lancaster resident, did not see Bradley until her car hit him. The boy was dragged nearly 60 feet by Oggs’ car.
Davidson said the investigation is continuing. Oggs has not been charged in the boy’s death.
