Afghan Quake Toll Climbs

MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan — The death toll from last week’s earthquake in northern Afghanistan has risen to 167 with more than 300 injured, relief officials said Thursday.
Officials said Monday that 60 people had been killed by the May 1 quake, which had a magnitude of 6.0.
