German Company Seeks Global Mobile Phone Alliance: Deutsche Bundespost Telekom, the largest phone company in Europe, said it is hoping to become a major player in international personal mobile communications. DeTeMobil, Telekom’s mobile phone unit, said it will unveil a digital mobile telephone network for the greater Moscow region later this week, which it will add to four other digital licenses and one analog license in Russia. It said it is seeking mobile telephone licenses in Europe and studying “around 20 options” in Asia. DeTeMobil wants eventually to enter the North American market. DeTeMobil’s parent company has set up an alliance with Sprint Corp. and France Telecom.
