Media CEO Recovering

MIAMI — James K. Batten, chairman and chief executive officer of Knight-Ridder Inc., was recovering Tuesday from surgery to remove a brain tumor and could be released from the hospital this week, a company spokesman said. The tumor was discovered Thursday after Batten went in for tests to determine why he was experiencing severe headaches and fatigue.
