SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Boys & Girls Club Names New Director

Mark H. Buffington has been named executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Capistrano Valley.
The club’s board of directors announced the decision last week.
Buffington becomes the club’s first paid director. He has 14 years’ experience at other Boys & Girls Clubs. He spent a dozen years as director of operations at the Whittier club, then as assistant executive director at the La Habra club.
Buffington, who lives in La Habra, said he hopes to move his family to San Juan Capistrano. His wife is a corporate employment consultant. The couple have three children.
Board member Don Tryson said the Boys & Girls Club of Capistrano Valley will move to a new location in October.
The move, to a larger building at Serra School, 31431 El Camino Real, will enable the club to accommodate more members, Tryson said.
Board members are seeking donated building materials and labor to improve the building that will house the club.
