Pacoima Man Held in Death of Roommate

Police on Thursday arrested a 47-year-old Pacoima man who they say killed his 62-year-old roommate with a blunt object and dumped the man’s body along the side of Whitnall Highway in North Hollywood.
Bennie Lee Carmack was arrested at the mobile home he shared with Roy Haselow on Glenoaks Boulevard, said Lt. Joseph Garcia of the Los Angeles Police Department. The two men argued before the killing and police are continuing to investigate the motive, Garcia said.
A passerby discovered Haselow’s body on Wednesday in bushes along the highway near Cahuenga Boulevard.
Carmack is expected to be arraigned today, Garcia said.
