Carbon Monoxide Detectors Mandated

CHICAGO — Chicago becomes the first major U.S. city to require carbon monoxide detectors in homes and buildings ranging from theaters to museums.
The new law, effective Saturday, triggered a run on the devices, which retail between $30 and $50.
