Tickets Aweigh! Navy Racks Up Scofflaw Record

CINCINNATI — U.S. Navy recruiters are the worst parking ticket scofflaws in Cincinnati, having accumulated 99 unpaid tickets since 1988, according to a local published report.
But the Navy says individuals are responsible for their own parking fines, not the federal government, according to the Cincinnati Post.
A spokesman for Hamilton County Clerk of Courts James Cissell said the fines total about $4,000. Although the Navy is cooperating in trying to track down the offenders, most of the amount will probably not be recovered, he said.
The paper quotes a Navy spokesman as saying the Navy will begin requiring personnel to report any tickets they receive, then track whether future tickets are paid.
