WF Wincent scored an upset victory in the $190,000 Drinkers of the Wind Futurity Friday night at Los Alamitos. Ridden by Elaina Sheradin, WF Wincent went ahead early in the six-furlong contest and led throughout, winning by 3 1/2 lengths in 1:19 4/5.
Trained by Roger Werneth, WF Wincent paid $12.20, $9.00 and $5.00 to win the richest Arabian race ever. Juans Grand, a 45-1 shot, finished second.
