Large Bass Are Caught at Casitas and Castaic

The calm before the storm is considered by some to be the best time to fish for bass, and that has proved true in the past week as several lunkers were pulled from the Southland’s two top bass lakes.
At Lake Casitas in Ventura County, Paul Beppu of Ventura fooled an 11-pounder and Pete Cormier of Bakersfield caught 11- and eight-pound bass.
But the biggest fish reportedly came out of Castaic Lake in Los Angeles County.
Bill Siemantel of Castaic took a 15-pounder, and guide Gary Harrison and Giul’s Filick of Ontario, Canada, caught fish of 12, 8-8 and seven pounds.
