Opera Pacific of Irvine and two choreographers living in Orange County have been awarded a total of $59,500 in the first round of 1995 National Endowment for the Arts grants. Opera Pacific won $32,500 for its 1995-1996 season production costs. Awarded choreographers fellowships were East Indian dancer Ramya Harishankar of Irvine ($20,000), and modern dancer Hae Kyung Lee ($7,000), who recently moved to Garden Grove from Los Angeles. The NEA announced a total of $24.2 million today in grants to 993 artists and institutions across the country.
