SANTA ANA : Lacy Area Targeted for Code Enforcement
- Share via
The City Council has named the Lacy neighborhood as the fourth area targeted for improvement under a city rental enforcement program.
The council recently voted to shift the special code enforcement program to the Lacy area, bounded by French Street to the west, 1st Street to the south, Poinsettia Street to the east and Civic Center Drive to the north.
Under the program, inspectors survey every apartment in the designated area and require tenants and landlords to fix potentially hazardous problems such as faulty wiring and inadequate plumbing.
Areas are chosen based on the number of code violation complaints as well as the number of calls for police and fire service.
The rental enforcement program, which began in 1993, is run by the Planning and Building Agency.
