Alaska Airlines Will Keep Flying to Russian Far East: Alaska Airlines Inc. said it also will resume flights to Dutch Harbor, Alaska, as talks with pilots resumed. A week ago, Alaska Airlines said it would cancel its weekly flight to the Russian Far East on April 4 because of disagreements with pilots over work rules. Flights to the fishing town of Dutch Harbor were canceled last November for the same reason. “Renewed discussions between the carrier and its pilots cleared the way for the decisions,” said airline spokesman Lou Cancelmi. The airline, the largest unit of Seattle-based Alaska Air Group Inc., had sought to bend the pilots’ their work rules because of the difficulties of flying to both Russia and Dutch Harbor, which is part of the Aleutian Islands chain.
