Appeals Court Upholds State “Green Marketing” Law: The federal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco rejected a petition by the Assn. of National Advertisers to rehear arguments questioning the constitutionality of California’s truth-in-advertising law for environmental claims made on consumer products. The law, added to the state’s Business and Professions Code in 1990, limits the use of terms that include “recycled,” “biodegradable” and “ozone friendly.”
