PLACENTIA : A Dozen to Vie for Title in City Pageant

A dozen young Placentia women will compete for scholarships and the title of Miss Placentia tonight in the city’s annual beauty and talent pageant, themed “A Night at the Copacabana.”
Each contestant will perform a musical, dramatic or precision drill routine. Contestants will also talk about a community issue they would address in the coming year should they win the title. Topics range from substance abuse and domestic violence to access for the disabled.
Contestants are Valencia High School students Katherine Pico, Kenya Jamison and Jill Frazee; El Dorado High School students Jennifer Hoag, Savrina Lawrence, Jennifer Johnson and Kimberly Henderson; Cal State Fullerton student Enca Martinez; Chapman University student Lesley Norris; Cal Poly Pomona student Jalaine Burndah; Biola University student Jennifer Miller, and Fullerton College student Niki Esposito.
The pageant starts at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Valencia High School, 500 N. Bradford Ave. Tickets are $12 and will be available at the door.
