Ventura police are seeking a man suspected of sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman early Saturday on Victoria Avenue.
The woman was on her way home from working a night shift shortly after 7 a.m. when a middle-aged man in a pickup truck began following her and tried to force her car off the road, police said.
The man chased her to Thille Street and County Square Drive, then pulled his truck in front of her car and blocked her path, authorities said.
Police said the victim got out of her car and tried to run away, but the man tackled her and sexually assaulted her.
The woman was treated at Ventura County Medical Center and released.
The suspect is described as white, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with collar-length brown hair and brown eyes. He was driving a faded red, small truck without a shell. He was last seen driving south on County Square Drive.
Police are asking witnesses to call 339-4400.
