Sentencing in First Pension Fraud: A former executive who pleaded guilty to defrauding thousands of investors out of $136 million while operating failed First Pension Corp. of Irvine is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday. Valerie Jensen of San Juan Capistrano faces up to 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. Her two partners, William E. Cooper of Villa Park and Robert E. Lindley of Laguna Niguel, were sentenced in January by U.S. District Judge John G. Davies. Cooper received the maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and Lindley got nine years for enticing investors to put their retirement money in phony mortgage pools. The two men must report March 20 to a prison near Denver. Jensen’s sentencing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building, 255 E. Temple St. in Downtown Los Angeles.
