A family returning home from their Reseda restaurant was robbed at gunpoint, police said Monday.
The husband, 49, and wife, 40, drove up to their house on Cypress Point Drive about 11:15 p.m. Sunday in separate cars, said Los Angeles Police Detective Ron Rawson. As they entered the garage, they were followed by three robbers, who ordered them to lie on the ground while the thieves took their possessions, Rawson said.
When the couple’s teen-age children entered the garage, the robbers also ordered them to the ground, he said. They then went into the house, demanding the family lead them to money, Rawson said.
Police say $33,500 was reported stolen.
The robbers, described as 18 or 19 years old, fled on foot, leaving the family unharmed, Rawson said.
