A high-ranking officer of the LAPD will address the Wilshire Community Police Advisory Board at 7 tonight at Park La Brea Community Center.
Residents of the Wilshire, Beverly and Fairfax areas may attend the monthly meeting, at which Capt. John Mutz, commanding officer of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Division, will speak.
The Wilshire area was one of the first areas to adopt the concept of community-based policing. The advisory board, which formed almost two years ago, is part of the program.
The board, whose members were appointed by the Police Department, encourages greater communication among residents, community improvement groups and police.
The center is at 340 S. Hauser Blvd. Information: Sgt. Ron Batesole at (213) 485-4020.
