Coach: Mike Starkweather (11th year).
1994: 8-0-1, 6-0-1 in the Sea View League. Beat Woodbridge--ranked sixth in the nation--for the league title but placed among bottom 20 at Division I finals.
Key returners: Alex Batley, Jr.; Mike Bise, Jr.; Thad Buzolich, Sr.; Tom Cappitz, Sr.; Cameron Glasgow, Sr.; Matt Hedley, Sr.; Dough Jetton, Sr.; Adam MacFarland, Sr.; Jeff Marchiorlaiti, Jr.; James Palda, Sr.; Adrian Strelzow, Sr.; Kevin Tucker, Sr.; Bryan Ward, Sr.
Key newcomers: John Casey, So.; Mike Casey, So.; Matt Ellis, Jr.; Mike McClellan, Jr.; Kawika Tarayao, Fr.
Outlook: Starkweather admits last year’s goal was to beat Woodbridge and not worry about the division finals. Well, the Sea Kings beat the Warriors and were nonexistent at the finals. This year, however, with the most seniors he has ever had on a team, Starkweather has set goals in stages: Southern Section relays, league dual meet season, league finals and Division I finals. “We plan on a successful season due to our unorthodox training schedule, which includes beach volleyball workouts,” Starkweather said.
